Champions slump to second defeat as trailing pack keep pace
Champions Chelsea has slumped to only their second defeat this season after middlesbrough hammered them 3-0 as they head towards the safety zone of the premiership. Middlesbrough has already beaten Arsenal and Manchester United at teeside and Mourinho's men were the latest giants to be slayed by struggling middlesbrough. That defeat meant that Chelsea are only 12 points clear of Manchester United, who won at the south coast with a Ronaldo double and a van Nistelrooy header. Third place liverpool had to call upon Sami to do what their strikers can't do, score, as they edge pass Wigan 1-0. Elsewhere, Fulham ran rampage over W.B.A. with a helguson hat-trick and a Colins John double. Everton beat Blackburn with young Ian Tuner getting sent off for catching the ball outside off the penalty area. Arsene's gunners only could manage a draw with Bolton at Highbury. Gilberto's last minute goal savaged a priceless point.
Villa claimed Newcastle lucked out as managerless magpies win 2-1.
